Summary

Shane Lee is known to actively seek out potential opportunities and capitalize on prime conditions. This led him to establish one of Singapore’s first specialty café, 6oz Espresso Bar, when he was just 23 years old, as a second-year Business undergraduate.

Shane went on to become an award-winning latte artist, locally and internationally. He is also a certified judge at the Singapore National Barista Championship. Shane’s strategic planning spearheaded 6oz Espresso Bar to be recognized as one of the best in the industry. He is also frequently invited to international tradeshows as guest speaker to share his experiences.

Today, his quest for the perfect cup of coffee has led Shane to source for new beans and work directly with coffee farmers to learn about harvesting methods. He conducts yearly visits to coffee plantations, and assist farmers to diversify their income by developing new sustainable products and improve their processing methods.

Currently, Shane is working on agritourism initiatives to help create sustainable income for farmers all year round. He aims to bring those involved in growing, buying, roasting and brewing together.

6oz Espresso Bar

6oz Espresso Bar was established in 2010 by a group of dedicated people pursuing the highest quality and craftsmanship in brewing. The award-winning brand is a sleek, modern café with 5 retail outlets across the Central Business District, and recognized as one of the best in the industry equipped to handle the fast-paced demands of the contemporary clientele of the corporate world.

In 2015, 6oz Espresso Bar established another business line, 6oz Mobile Coffee. A highly sought-after service by corporate organizations and luxury brands to set up ‘live’ Barista Stations at conferences, product launches, tradeshows and corporate/private events to provide that true café experience at their events.

Today, 6oz Espresso Bar works directly with coffee plantations to ensure economic and social well-being of farming communities as part of its corporate sustainability initiatives. This wholesale arm of the business micro-roasts and distributes specialty coffee beans and organic plant-based milk to support other F&B establishments to elevate their coffee standards.

Through careful planning and a grounding in good business practices, 6oz Espresso Bar aims for substantial growth steadily by aligning its business and operating models.
